A photo scandal of a former Ateneo de Manila basketball star recently circulated on social media. It created various reactions from netizens-- some showed sympathy, many did not believe it was him, and some threw shades on the basketball star. All this time, the former Ateneo star and his family remained quiet about the issue, including his girlfriend, Allysa Valdez.
Finally, Kiefer Ravena spoke up about the issue. According to the report, a man has been arrested by the authorities for a robbery and extortion case. Ravena revealed on Wednesday that Kristoffer Monico Ng was caught in an entrapment operation made by the Philippine National Police Anti-Cyber Crime Group.
“Now that we have the first suspect under the PNP’s custody, we hope to get more leads and information so justice will be served, and harassment and blackmailing such as this would end,” Ravena said.
Ng has been identified as a banker on a report made by FOX Sports Asia. He is now facing robbery and extortion case which can get him 12 to 20 years of imprisonment.
According to Kiefer, they were threatened by Ng. He said that he will leak the photos and he also tried getting money from them.
“We’ve been silent the past couple of weeks because my parents have been consulting with law enforcement to get to the bottom of this matter,” Ravena explained.
On the other hand, Kristoffer Monico Ng admitted that he tried to bribe them but he did not post any video on social media.
"Siguro, nasanay ka na rin lang na palaging may ganoon," he said on an interview made by ABS-CBN News. "I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but it is what it is.”
He is currently focused on Alab Pilipinas which represents the country in ASEAN basketball League.
“Just focus on what's important, which is the team right now,” Ravena concluded.
