Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha Presents A Noteworthy Comic Tandem of Sharon Cuneta and Moi Marcampo

Fresh from its box-office success in select theaters in the one-week run of Cinemalaya 2017, the Megastar Sharon Cuneta's comeback film to the silver screen "Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha" will have its nationwide release starting September 6. According to its director Mes de Guzman, the film was remastered with better sound quality and brightness but the scenes will remain as is, so it's expected that we will enjoy a better movie experience.

I got the chance to watch the film during its Cinemalaya run and certainly, this was among my favorites. It's one drama-comedy film that kept me totally engaged that I didn't excuse myself for a restroom break as I don't want to miss any part of it.

The film narrates the story of Cora (Sharon) who was a firm believer in a family that doesn't weep and whose mission is to have them reunited and keep them in one house so she could do the same for her dysfunctional family. Partnering with her on this journey was her new nanny Bebang (Moi Marcampo) wherein they always had a hilarious exchange of dialogue.

Sharon portrayed a convincing character of a mother who was desperate to have her family be complete again. In most of the scenes, she's been wearing the same clothing and was keeping herself busy drinking alcohol to cope up with depression.  Her punchlines were on point. She provided a sensitive performance on her breakdown scene where her emotions were clearly defined where it's coming from.

Moi's performance was a scene stealer. I think she has more air time than Sharon and she did not put it into waste. Her screen presence commanded the audience' attention because of her comic antics that will keep you in LOL moment. I wasn't expecting her scene mannequin that it lingered on me for days every time the film is a topic of discussion among my friends.

Included in the cast as well are Nino Muhlach, Kiko Matos, Michelle Vito, Richard Quan, Cris Villanueva, among others.

Interestingly, the theme song "Gabi Man, May Araw Din" was composed and sang by Ely Buendia which was fitting to its story line.

"Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha" is currently showing in theaters nationwide.
