Phoebe Walker Leads Cast Of Cignal TV-Sari Sari Channel's New Horror Drama On Vampires, 'Tabi Po', With Luis Alandy & Aj Muhlach

PHOEBE WALKER won the Metro Filmfest best supporting actress last year for her crackerjack performance as an evil nun in the horror flick, “Seklusyon”. She now appears in another horror project, “Tabi Po” of Cignal TV’s Sari Sari Channel, which is more than your usual vampire or aswang story.

Based on Mervin Malonzo’s best selling graphic novel that won the National Book Award for Graphic Literature, Phoebe plays the role of Sabel, a senior vampire who is trying to chart the course for the life of Elias, played by AJ Muhlach, a young aswang who is struggling to find his true nature. The series also stars Luis Alandy as Tasyo, another senior aswang, and newcomer Jourdanne Castillo, as Elias’ lady love who is the sex slave of a priest.

Directed by Paul Basinillo, a director of music videos, concerts and several TV commercials that have won awards in the New York Ad Fest, "Tabi Po" gives the now familiar stories of aswangs a new twist perfect for millennial viewers who look for something new.

Elias is an aswang born from an ancient balete tree during the Spanish regime. Set in the backdrop of the Philippine revolution, he faces his own battles with his own inner demons, the growing rift between him and his mentor Luis Alandy, and fighting for his love for Salome.

You will also learn more about the untold stories of aswangs. Where did they originate from and what is their purpose? Is there more to the gruesome killilngs and bloodshed typically associated with them? Direk Paul says he’s grateful to Cignal and Sari Sari Channel for greenlighting the bold and daring project.

“I also want to thank the dedication of the production team and the stars. We searched for
ideal locations as this is a period story. Madugo talaga ang preparation in terms of production values pero hindi nagtipid ang Cignal TV to make sure lalabas na maganda at authentic ang show. Pati special effects nito, ginastusan talaga. The stars underwent rigorous training for the fight scenes under a martial arts specialist.”

“Tabi Po” is shown every Friday at 8 PM until December 1.
