Teen Singing Sensation Inigo Pascual promises to keep it lit in “One Music X” in Dubai

The excitement has shifted to a higher gear as the next music experience to watch, “One Music X”, counts down to the much-awaited fusion of Philippine music and Dubai’s indie acts among others, on November 3 at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.

Youngest among the elite lineup is the Teen Singing Sensation Inigo Pascual, who may have started much later in the game but is expected to bring in the most thrills especially from the younger members of the crowd.

Born to a famous father, the Philippines’ Ultimate Kapamilya Heartthrob Piolo Pascual, the younger Pascual had it already in him even when he was a young Filipino in the U.S.

However, rather than jumping into his comfort zone, Pascual started his career in the performing arts first when he starred in the film “Relaks, It’s Just Pag-ibig” in 2014, produced by Spring Films. Since then, he has latched on one acting project after another.

While he was making waves starring in a string of youth-oriented flicks, Pascual could not help but make a u-turn to his first love – music. In 2016, he finally decided to pursue his musical career and launched his self-titled debut album, “Inigo Pascual”. While pursuing his
passion for singing, he slowly got out the shadows of his famous father and started making a name for himself.

“I don’t think there’s any formula, I just used my passion”, he says when asked about how he got out of his father’s shadow. “Nag-focus ako doon sa passion ko and I really worked hard for it (I just focused on my passion and really worked hard for it)”.

Pascual’s musical feat started coming in June, after making history when he became the first OPM artist to hit the number one spot at the Billboard Philippines Top 20, with his hit single “Dahil Sa ‘yo” reigning the spot for ten weeks.  The same song also won “Song of the Year” at the Alta Media Icon Awards.

He also clinched a series of awards such as the “Best New Artist of the Year” at the MOR Music Awards 2017, and most recent of which is the “Male Music Artist of the Year” at the 7th EdukCircle Awards.

Thinking that the accolades are already too much for a newbie, Pascual got another surprise when American trio Airspoken took notice of his song “Dahil Sa’yo”, and recently uploaded a video where they mashed up his hit with the songs “Havana” and “Rockstar” by international artists Camila Cabello and Post Malone, respectively.

Truly, 2017 was a great year for Pascual because of the highlights of his musical journey.

In fact, Pascual got the chance to perform overseas this year and was balled by the warm reception he received for his first performance abroad - the “TFC Sama Saya” component of  the “24th Pistahan Parade & Festival 2017” last August.

This November, Pascual is ready to take to the international stage once again for “One Music X”. Although he admits the thought of performing alongside the Philippines’ best, Pascual wants to use the opportunity to introduce his style as an artist. “Gusto kong i-introduce kung anong klaseng artist ako. Also, as much as possible I want to be able to relate with them, and hopefully they like my music (I want to introduce to them my own style as an artist. Also, as much as possible I want to be able to relate with them, and hopefully they like my music)”, he explains.

Get ready to sing along with Pascual and some of the Philippines’ best artists in the next music festival experience to watch: “One Music X” -- Pop-Rock Superstar Yeng ConstantinoSoul Supreme KZPop-Rock Band Silent Sanctuary; and Rock Icon of His Generation Rico Blanco; including EDM sensation Moophs and EDM artist Xela.  Sharing the stage are some of Dubai’s best indie performers: Pop RnB performer Josh McCartney and reggae performer Emmanuel MarieAdding fun and entertainment are the hosts: award-winning host and Myx VJ Robi Domingo; Myx’ home-grown host VJ Ai dela Cruz; and Ang Nag-iisang Diyosa sa Balat ng Radyo MOR 101.9 For Life’sDJ Chacha.

But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).

The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban with Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.

The next big thing in Philippine EDM is set to inject his brand of music to the next biggest music experience in the Middle East “One Music X”

In a country where songs that echo the tenets of love and pieces that border on feels catch mainstream attention, Moophs breaks into the Philippine music industry with a refreshing fusion of electronic dance music (EDM) and tropical sound.  This November 3, Moophs, the next biggest act in homeland EDM takes his brand of music to the world stage via the newest music fest in the Middle East --- “One Music X”.

The prelude to his foray into the music industry started early for Moophs or Chris Lopez in real life.   “Moophs” was into guitar first before he started exploring the world of EDM.  He studied at the early age of seven at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and clinched a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Like a musical counterpoint, Moophs went through the biggest decision in his life in 2013.  He packed his bags and moved to his homeland Philippines. He rebranded himself as Moophs (in honor of his pet Savannah Monitor who died during his move) and started collaborating with a digital team to bring awareness to his musical causein a world that only knows artists such as David Guetta, Alesso and other EDM superstars, thus far.

Moophs is floored by the idea of being called “the next big thing in Philippine EDM” and says: “I may have just been lucky to be given the right platform to showcase our local EDM”.

However, for his fellow “One Music X” performer KZ, the tag is no illusion.  “He is sick --- he is a sick man on stage”, KZ says.  The Soul Supreme explains that Moophs strums like crazy on stage getting lost in the moment and affecting his audience like no other artist can.

Stage to him has included iconic music fests such as Hydro, Castaway, Malasimbo, Lio Beach Fest and Nuevomundo, and international gigs such as Music Matters in Singapore.  He has also done the rounds of digital performances via One Music PH.

Now, under his newly created Tarsier records, Moophs has transcended from performances and has evolved to become a music producer, employing his eclectic musical background in classical, Latin, jazz and rock and mixing it with his experiences living in the Philippines to slowly showcase the flip side of Philippine music.

Catch Moophs make his move from Philippine EDM to more of the international music scene together with the best artists the Philippines has ever produced via “One Music X”.

“One Music X” happens November 3. Gates open at 1 p.m. while activities start at 2 p.m.
For tickets, visit Virgin Megastore and selected zoom outlets, or visit  Tickets are at AED 135 for General Patronage and AED 245 for VIP tickets.   Level up your “One Music X” experience by downloading the Event App, TFC Live, available on Google PlayStore and AppStore for FREE.

Twenty-two-year-old Alisah Bonaobra won UK’s heart and made it back to the live shows on The X Factor UK. Viewers were asked to vote for an eliminated act from the Judges’ House round whom they want to come back and compete in the live shows.

On Sunday’s episode, it was a battle between the Boys and the Girls categories with the theme “Express Yourself.” The X Factor UK hopefuls performed a song of their choice related to the theme.

While introducing her wildcard winner, Sharon Osbourne was very thankful to the public for bringing Alisah back.

Alisah performed This is My Now by Jordin Sparks, which greatly impressed the judges and the audience. After her performance, the judges were on their feet and had nothing but compliments for her.

“That song is absolutely perfect for you because this is your now and you deserve to be back on the show. You always should have been on the show!” said Louis Walsh. “It’s almost like a winner’s song, and I love a power ballad with a key change from a great singer and you are a great singer! You’re a great performer. You got great soul and I love the way you fight back!” he added.

Nicole Scherzinger agreed with Louis and referred to Alisah as her little Disney warrior princess. “You just hiya-d and karate chopped all through that song! But you did it with grace. You did it with poise. You did it with strength. I freakin’ adore you!” she expressed. “I look at you and I’m like that’s my little ninja Filipina sister up there! You were meant to be up there, like [what Louis] said, this is your now, because that’s your stage, and you just took it tonight, honey!” she added.

“Everybody says in this contest that they really want this, and they really need to be here. I know your story. I know what you’ve gone through. And you know what? With a voice like yours, you’re gonna be here ‘til the end, Miss! I am so happy for you, so, so happy!” said judge and Girls category mentor Sharon Osbourne.

On the taped interview, Alisah called herself the “comeback queen.” She looked back at her journey where she was let go but asked to come back and fight for her spot at the Six Chair Challenge. Now she is back again as the wildcard winner.

When host Dermot O’Leary asked the judges who they thought won the night, the lady judges Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne both favored Alisah.

Alisah survived week 1 of the live shows and will continue with her journey on the competition.

It’s no surprise that when we hear the words Saw and Jigsaw, it only brings us to think about one of Hollywood’s finest slasher cult-classic film series, after more than fourteen years and grossing $874 million worldwide, the one and only Jigsaw is back and ready to play new games with everyone.

The newest installment’s story takes off 10 years after the death of sociopath killer, John Kramer, who is also known as the “Jigsaw Killer” or simply “Jigsaw”. After a series of murders bearing all the markings of the Jigsaw killer, law enforcement officers find themselves chasing the ghost of a man dead for over a decade and embroiled in a new game that’s only just begun.

Considered as one of the goriest slasher films in history, the newest installment of the franchise sits things in a new light, with screenwriters Josh Stohlberg (“Pirhana 3D”, “Sorority Row”) and Peter Goldfinger (“Sorority Row”) creating the script, Producer Oren Koules sees “Jigsaw” as the most exciting and fun “Saw” installment to date.

“We really got to develop a script, hire great directors, a great cinematographer, and I think everyone’s in for a fun ride.”

The first Saw film catapulted into stardom James Wan, who is known for his prowess in creating highly acclaimed slasher and horror films, with the new installment being directed by Michael and Peter Spierig, they are certain that they would be able to keep everyone at the edge of their seats with their take on the cult-classic.

“Our goal was to go back to the thriller aspects of the franchise. The best versions of Saw are when it’s a thriller, and it’s about the twists and turns, and the excitement of figuring out whodunit. That’s the stuff we love.” Says Peter Spierig

Despite being killed in the 3rd installment of the film, co-director Michael Spierig honors John Kramer in Jigsaw. “It’s the idea that he creates the kind of confessional environment for everybody to atone for their sins,” says Michael. “It’s an interesting dynamic for a villain, and that’s fun to play with. There’s some really interesting moral dilemmas in these films.”

With a new set of all-star casts including, Matt Passmore (“Fifty Shades of Grey”), Callum Keith Rennie (“Flashpoint”), Cle Bennett, Mandela Van Peebles (“We the Party”, “Roots”), Laura Vandervoort (“Haven”, “Smallvile”), Britanny Allen (“All my Children”) and Paul Braunstein (“Haven”).

“Jigsaw” slashes into theaters nationwide starting November 1 from Pioneer Films. Trailer link below.
